Situated in the new property 'hot spot' of Pukehina Beach (BOP) sits a 6km long strip of beachfront properties, facing north-east out towards the ocean. With well-known Kiwi actors taking up residence, along with ex-Aucklanders leaving the 'big smoke' behind and choosing Pukehina as their place to call home.

The brief: To remove the existing old kiwi bach, to make way for my clients forever home. Quickly a two-storied dwelling was agreed upon to maximize the ocean views, while wrap around upper floor decks around the dwelling footprint to take in the nature estuary and those beautiful afternoon sunsets across to the Kaimai rages beyond.

aesthetics: Using locally sourced vertical timber cladding with contracting plaster render finish makes a statement when approaching from the Parade. A gentle curved roof line, with oversized overhangs to front & rear, appear to be floating high above the land while acknowledging the movement of the water which surrounds this area.

 

Frameless glass balustrades were utilized for the view & solid timber for privacy when required. Bi-folding kitchen window joinery units and large stacker sliders front & rear allow for full emersion within this pristine environment.
